A special meeting of the Wheatland Town Board is scheduled for Monday 17-Aug-26 at 6:00 AM for the purpose of review and approval of an AMENDATORY AGREEMENT to the COOPERATION AGREEMENT for URBAN COUNTY REQUALIFICATION.
On July 9th, the Board unanimously passed a resolution to form Water District #3, pending a 30-day permissive referendum.
This allowed us to submit the application for a NYS Water Infrastructure Improvement Act (WIIA) Grant. The WIIA grant application was submitted by the due date of 7/27/2026.
As explained in the public hearing, the cost presented is predicated on receiving the WIIA grant and the USDA Rural Development Grant monies.
If the grant monies are not awarded as planned, the project does not simply move forward. At that point, another public hearing will be held to discuss costs and options.
A public hearing before the Town Board of the Town of Wheatland will be held at the Wheatland-Chili MS/HS Auditorium, in Scottsville New York on the 9th day of July, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. to hear the residents and landowners in proposed Water District #3 interested in the subject thereof, concerning the same, and for such other action on the part of said Town Board as may be required by law or proper in the premises. A map, plan and report have been prepared in a manner and detail as determined by the Town Board of the Town of Wheatland, regarding the establishment of a proposed – Water District No. 3 in the Town of Wheatland. The map, plan and report have been filed in the Town Clerk’s Office in the Town on the 25th day of June, 2026. The map, plan and report were prepared by Jason Ebbs, P.E., of LaBella Associates, P.C., a competent engineer, licensed by the State of New York, showing the boundaries of the proposed district, a general plan of the distribution system and a report of the proposed methods of operation and the estimated maximum cost of said proposed district. Notice of Adoption of Resolution Subject to Permissive Referendum
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a regular meeting held on the 14th day of May 2026, the Town Board of the Town of Wheatland duly adopted a resolution, an abstract of which follows, which resolution is subject to a permissive referendum pursuant to Article 7 of the Town Law of the State of New York.
Whereas, it was moved by Supervisor Kirch, seconded by Councilman Call and carried,
Resolution No. 73 :
WHEREAS, the Town of Wheatland has established a Reserve Fund known as the “Building Repair Reserve,” and
WHEREAS, the Town of Wheatland intends to make repairs and improvements to the Donnelly House,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, subject to permissive referendum, the Town Board hereby authorizes the Supervisor to withdraw a sum of $53,969.36 from the “Building Repair Reserve” and apply it to the repairs and improvements.
